At 17, Huong was determined to attend a Word of Life camp in Vietnam. A local volunteer had told her about it, and a scholarship covered the registration fee—but she still needed money for transportation.
For three days, Huong searched a mountain stream for snails. Each day, she carried them down the mountain and sold them for about $1.20 per kilogram. Little by little, she earned enough for the journey.
She arrived at camp believing something important was waiting for her. On the first night, Huong heard the gospel and accepted Christ with joy.
Her story was one part of a wider season of ministry across Vietnam. Through gospel skits, English camps, and youth retreats, young people who had never heard about Jesus encountered the message of hope for the first time.
For Huong, the road to camp began in a mountain stream—with three days of patient work, a determined heart, and the faith to keep moving toward something she could not yet see.
